Talcum Powder Injury Lawsuits

Talcum powder use has been linked to ovarian cancer.

Talcum Powder Injury Class Action Lawsuits

Johnson & Johnson is currently the subject of approximately 5,500 lawsuits related to its talcum powder products. These lawsuits claim that the pharmaceutical giant is responsible for giving women ovarian cancer through two specific talcum powder products. As a matter of fact, these products include Johnson’s Baby Powder and Shower to Shower.

Furthermore, the class-action filings came one year after South Dakota resident Deane Berg won her claim that Johnson and Johnson was guilty of negligence.  The claimed argued that Johnson & Johnson did not give her warning that decades of baby powder use could put her at a higher risk for getting ovarian cancer. In 2006, doctors diagnosed Berg with ovarian cancer.

Symptoms of Ovarian Cancer

  • Loss of appetite
  • Cancer-related fatigue
  • Weight loss
  • Abnormal vaginal bleeding or discharge
  • Pain in the belly or pelvis
  • Change in bowel habits (frequent urination, constipation, bloating, nausea, etc.)
  • Lower back pain
  • Lump in the abdomen, feeling of fullness, and/or swelling
